Hyun Song Shin

Hyun Song Shin took up the position of Economic Adviser and Head of Research at the BIS on 1 May 2014. Before joining the BIS, Mr Shin was the Hughes-Rogers Professor of Economics at Princeton University. In 2010, on leave from Princeton, he served as Senior Adviser to the Korean president, taking a leading role in formulating financial stability policy in Korea and developing the agenda for the G20 during Korea's presidency. From 2000 to 2005, he was Professor of Finance at the London School of Economics.

Niklas Engbom

Niklas Engbom is a Junior Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. He will serve as an Assistant Professor at the Stern School of Business of New York University from July 2019. His research interests include Macroeconomics and Labor Markets, particularly how labor markets interact with the broader macroeconomy.

Dr. Engbom obtained his doctoral degree in Economics from Princeton University in 2018, and his bachelor's degree in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics in 2010.

Kiseok Hong

Kiseok Hong, a Professor of Economics and an Adjunct Professor at the Division of International Studies of Scranton College, teaches undergraduate / graduate macroeconomics and undergraduate financial economics. Professor Hong received his doctoral degree in Economics from Harvard University in 1996, with a thesis about household consumption and saving behavior. He has also worked as a researcher for the Korea Development Institute and a consultant for the Asian Development Bank.

Satoshi Shimizutani

Satoshi Shimizutani is an Executive Senior research Fellow at JICA Ogata Research Institute. Prior to the current position, he worked for the Japanese government and conducted economic research at several research institutes. His primary interest is empirical research with a focus on policy evaluation and his papers covered a wide variety of topics and some of them were published in Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Money, Credit and Banking, Journal of Comparative Economics and Industrial and Labor Relations Review.

Peter Rosenkranz

Peter’s work focuses on ADB’s finance sector operations in East Asia. He supports and leads the origination, processing, and implementation of lending projects, guarantees, and technical assistance, as well as the delivery of knowledge products and solutions. Previously, he worked as Economist in ADB’s Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department, focusing on issues relating to financial development and stability within the context of regional financial cooperation and integration in Asia.
