Dr. Satoshi Shimizutani is a Senior Research Fellow at the Ricoh Institute of Sustainability and Business. He is an expert in the Japanese economy, macroeconomics, health economics, and the economics of aging. Prior to his current position, Dr. Shimizutani served as a Research Fellow at the Gender Equality Bureau of the Government of Japan, and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for International Policy Studies. He was also an Associate Professor at the Institute of Economic Research of Hitotsubashi University, and a Counsellor for the Economic and Social Research Institute of the Government of Japan.
Dr. Shimizutani obtained his Doctorate degree in Economics and his Masters degree in Applied Economics from the University of Michigan. He also holds a law degree from the University of Tokyo.
