Asia Leadership Program 2016

High-level policy makers and officials exchanged ideas with ADB counterparts at the Asia Leadership Program 2016.

The fourth annual program highlighted co-learning between Asian Development Bank staff and 23 participants, three of which are Executive-Level Policy Makers while the other 20 are Senior-Level Management officials. The program focused on the following sectors and areas:

Roundtable for Knowledge Partnerships with Local Academic Institutions: Stronger, Better, and Faster Practical Knowledge for Development

For the last 50 years, the Philippines has graciously hosted the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in its premises. Local academic institutions such as the University of the Philippines, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies, and the Asian Institute of Management, on their own or in various partnerships with ADB through the years, have undertaken initiatives that contribute to ADB’s vision of a poverty-free Asia and Pacific region.

Visions of Asia's Water Realities

In 2001, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved its Water for All policy to promote water as a socially vital economic good that needs increasingly careful management. One imperative of the policy was to raise awareness on water challenges and the urgent need to address them.

Two years later in 2003, as part of a bank-wide water awareness program, ADB launched the Water Voices documentary series, a set of seven compelling documentaries about people finding local solutions to important water-related problems in Asia and the Pacific.

Communities of Practice 101

Communities of Practice (CoPs) gather people who share a common passion for something they do and who interact regularly to learn how to do it better. They are peer-to-peer collaborative networks driven by the willingness of their members to share work-related knowledge, further develop expertise, and solve problems in a specific domain.
