Indigenous Peoples' Development, Diversity, and Inclusion: Emerging and Ongoing Issues in Asia-Pacific - A Webinar Series

ADB's Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department (SDCC) launched a Webinar Series on Indigenous Peoples’ issues. This initiative is an attempt to put a spotlight on Indigenous Peoples' development concerns and their core priorities, such as participation, equality, and environmental sustainability.

The learning objectives of these webinars are to build awareness and understanding on the following linkages and themes:

Ancha Srinivasan

Ancha is a Principal Climate Change Specialist at the Southeast Asia Department (SERD) of ADB. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK and as the Climate Change Focal Point for Southeast Asia, he formulates and oversees the implementation of several projects on climate change adaptation and mitigation. He chairs the ADB Climate Smart Agriculture Working Group and serves as ADB’s focal for the Forest Investment Program.

Helen Newing

​​Helen has been working on issues related to biodiversity conservation and indigenous peoples/local communities for over twenty-five years. ​In the past she has worked both as an academic and the NGO sector. Currently her work is principally in three areas: biodiversity conservation and local communities; social and environmental standards for responsible palm oil production; and conservation social science methods.
