Adi Widyanto

Head of Conservation and Development
, BirdLife International Indonesia
Profile / Bio:

Adi supervised the development and implementation of conservation program across the organization. Part of his key accomplishment was to lead the grant-making program for CSOs in Wallacea funded by CEPF, which include working with the indigenous communities and their territories.

The Trillion Trees partnership and the BirdLife Accelerator programme has enabled me and my team to scale up the conservation program in the Mbeliling landscape to take up the new challenge of sustainable landscape financing. We have explored several opportunities for future conservation financing. Some of them are close by and therefore can be executed immediately such as community water business and commodity joint marketing. Some require rigorous preparation to meet the criteria set by the carbon trade or engage with global players. Overall this has changed the way we implement our conservation program in the sense that securing long-term financing has now become an inseparable part of what we do.
