Jope Davetanivalu

Jope Davetanivalu is originally from the Fiji Island and has worked and served in the Fiji Government for 27 years. He worked in the Central Board of Health under the Ministry of Health, served as a lecturer on Public Health at the Fiji School of Medicine and as the Director of Environment under the Ministry of Local Government and Environment for Fiji. He is currently employed by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) as the Environment Planning Advisor for its member countries.

Adelaida Roman

Ms. Adelaida Roman is a Senior Programme Specialist and the Head of Air and Atmospheric Pollution Cluster at the Regional Resource Centre for Asia and the Pacific, Asian Institute of Technology. She coordinates the activities of the "Malé Declaration on Control and Prevention of Air Pollution and Its Likely Transboundary Effects for South Asia", an intergovernmental network dealing with transboundary air pollution in eight countries of South Asia, as well as the Project “Sustainable Low Emissions Transport”.

Emma Marsden

Emma Marsden, a Senior Environment Specialist, works in the Safeguards Division of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department at ADB. Her responsibilities include supporting the implementation of the Safeguard Policy Statement. Her main areas of interest are pollution and health. Emma has a BSc in Environmental Management from Lancaster University and an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. She has 20 years of experience in the field of environmental and sustainability assessment.

Thusitha Sugathapala

Dr. Thusitha Sugathapala is a Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering of the University of Moratuwa and a Chartered Engineer. He obtained the BSc Engineering Degree from University of Moratuwa and PhD from the University of Cambridge. He served as the Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Director General of Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority. Dr. Sugathapala’s research areas of interest cover both energy and environment fields, including renewable energy; energy efficiency; and environmental management.

Nishant Bhardwaj

Nishant Bhardwaj is an energy adviser currently working with DFID and leading its energy strategy and program implementation in India. He has over 18 years of professional experience in energy infrastructure finance, power sector reforms, energy technologies, and green growth, working across the Asia Pacific region. His area of expertise is policy advisory, strategy and planning, and implementation of energy sector programs. He is currently the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for DFID’s energy sector programs.
