Central banks have been at the forefront of COVID-19 response and recovery policies. The effective transmission of monetary policy to the real economy in response to pandemic shocks is highly uncertain, however. In addition, how fiscal and monetary policies complement each other and can be efficiently implemented and monitored is not well understood and requires further research.

Tanja Kuchenmuller

Tanja Kuchenmüller, M.A., M.Sc, coordinates, leads and manages ad interim the Knowledge Management, Evidence and Research for Policy-Making unit (KER); Division of Information, Evidence, Research and Innovation (DIR) at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. DIR/KER has the mandate to support Member States in strengthening capacity for generating health research, following globally-accepted ethics principles, providing access to scientific knowledge and translating the best available evidence into policies and practice.

Mariana Mazzucato

Mariana Mazzucato (PhD) is Professor in the Economics of Innovation and Public Value at University College London (UCL), where she is Founding Director of the UCL Institute for Innovation & Public Purpose (IIPP). She received her BA from Tufts University and her MA and PhD in Economics from the Graduate Faculty of the New School for Social Research. Her previous posts include the RM Phillips Professorial Chair at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at Sussex University.

Winnie Lewis

Winnie Lewis heads the Disability Inclusion team at SG Enable that provides advisory and consultancy support to organizations keen to employ persons with disabilities. The employer consultants on the team work closely with employers to integrate persons with disabilities at the workplace, supporting their disability inclusion journey with the aim of attaining the Enabling Mark, a national-level accreditation framework by SG Enable that benchmarks and recognizes organizations for their best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive employment.
