Charles Rodgers

Charles Rodgers is Senior Advisor for Climate Change Adaptation at the Asian Development Bank, Manila, Philippines since 2015. He has served as Senior Environment Specialist with the Asian Development Bank in the Regional and Sustainable Development Department where he coordinated ADB’s climate change adaptation program. Dr. Rodgers’ training and professional experience combine civil engineering and economics as applied to agriculture and food security, water resources development and global climate change.

Social Protection in the Area of Disaster Risk Reduction in Asia Pacific: IFRC Experience and Learnings

Workshop on Building Catastrophe Risk Protection Markets for Low-Income Households in India

The purpose of the workshop is to bring key market participants together to debate and discuss the development of robust and deep catastrophe risk protection markets in India. Participants discussed the need for catastrophe risk protection in India, dispeled any misconceptions involved with the required data, discussed the product development challenges, and deliberated the ways in which these challenges can be overcome to create catastrophe risk mitigation products for the Indian market.
