Development in Elderly Care in People's Republic of China and ADB’s Involvement

Yichang City has one of the highest population of elderly residents over the age of 60 in the People’s Republic of China. Yet, the availability of elderly care facilities and services in the city remain inadequate. ADB’s project aims to provide effective and efficient delivery of elderly care services through public-private partnerships.

Effective Partnerships for Development Results (Spanish)

Using results-based management as its strategy, the Government of Paraguay was able to put in place responsible and sustainable public policies for achieving development. Strengthening the country’s public financial management and budgeting systems resulted to an increase in public spending efficiency, social and infrastructure investments, and compliance with fiscal rules.

The Communication Story of Estero de Paco

Clean-up and dredging activities along Manila’s Pasig River in the Philippines and expensive schemes to aerate river water have proved unsustainable, and created new problems such as sludge build-up. The different approach piloted by Asian Development Bank focuses on the 3-kilometer Estero de Paco used sustainable technology and behavior change communication activities to intercept pollutants before they get to the river.
