Joanna Rogers holds an MSc in Social Work from Ersta Skondal University College in Stockholm and has over 30 years of experience in disability inclusion, social protection policy and programmes, social services development and social service workforce strengthening as well as child protection and care systems reform.

Patricia Mariano

Patricia has 8 years of experience in transport, first with the Philippines' Department of Transportation (DOTr) and then with the German development cooperation (GIZ). She works on sustainable transport policy and the role of technology in improving urban mobility, and has experience with airport policy and public-private partnerships. Since 2017, she has been working with Philippine Government on the Philippine Urban Mobility Programme, which has been adopted as an operationalization of the National Transport Policy released by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

Improving Road Safety in Mongolia and Samoa

This knowledge sharing session provided updates on road safety interventions in specific DMCs, namely, developing road safety management in the remote, rural areas of Mongolia and empowering the youth towards safer roads in Samoa.
The challenges and knowledge gaps for rural and remote road safety in Mongolia were discussed, especially in with respect to the five pillars of the UN’s global plan for the decade of action on road safety. Findings and recommendations to improve road safety management in Mongolia were presented through case studies.
