Taking Stock: Water Utility Highlights from the ADB Pacific WASH Technical Assistance Project
26 November 2025

Since 2020, the ADB Pacific Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) Technical Assistance (TA 6551) project has supported water utilities across the Pacific in providing sustainable and safe water services. The TA has also helped strengthen the region’s enabling environment for water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), ensuring utilities are better prepared to manage future shocks and disruptions, including disasters and pandemics.

As the Pacific WASH TA draws to a close in December 2025, this webinar will showcase key achievements of participating utilities across the Pacific region and reflect on how the TA has supported critical areas such as customer engagement, water safety planning, and asset management.

Join us online on 26 November 2025 to hear from:

  • To Tatou Vai (TTV), Cook Islands – Developed a more strategic and structured approach to customer engagement through the introduction of a Customer Agreement and Connection Code, establishing a platform for proactive communication with clients.

  • Tonga Water Board – Updated its water safety plan, resulting in significant improvements to water quality monitoring and management, and the establishment of a new water quality laboratory.

  • Samoa Water Authority – Conducted comprehensive condition assessments and developed an integrated asset management system plan linked to contingency planning, scheduled maintenance, project analysis tools, trade waste management, and communication and financial forecasting.

  • Solomon Islands Water Authority – In collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, implemented initiatives to promote customer behavior change and increase public awareness, improving public health outcomes and reducing non-revenue water.

The webinar will also highlight the overall impact of the Pacific WASH TA and lessons learned from five years of technical assistance provided to water utilities across the region.
