4 August 2020

The eighth Policy Actions for COVID-19 Economic Recovery (PACER) Dialogue on “Post-COVID-19 New Normal: Implications for Startup Ecosystems” discussed policies and measures that can better enable startups to survive and thrive in the wake of COVID-19, drawing on global good-practice examples and the experience of different countries. 120 participants including government officials and private sector representatives from Southeast Asia and the People’s Republic of China, joined by ADB experts, explored measures to help venture capital-backed startups continue to drive growth, create jobs, and support economic recovery amidst the pandemic.

The eighth session of the PACER Dialogues aimed to:

  • promote improved understanding of policies that can better support startups in the post COVID-19 “new normal”;
  • feature country and global experience and lessons on measures and policies to support startups in mitigating impacts of COVID-19 and accelerating recovery; and,
  • provide a platform for policy makers, development planners, and startups to share knowledge and experience and collaboratively learn from each other.
