The Forum on Successful Project Design and Implementation showcased the approach and practice of project frontliners to project implementation and presents cases from the field. It created an opportunity for peer learning and gathering practical knowledge. Policy guidelines and relevant cases were shared to promote a lively exchange of issues and challenges surrounding project management and field operations.

Central to the development is the quality of project design and implementation, which aimed to: enhance socio-economic and climate resilience in project design; achieve intended outcomes and results, and accelerate efforts toward a robust post-pandemic recovery. The forum focused on these three Rs, captured in the primary theme Navigating toward an Inclusive and Green Recovery.

Objectives

• Promoted discussions of necessary reforms in policies and procedures toward better results, resilience, and recovery in ADB-financed projects.
• Highlighted program modalities, lending instruments, and systems that can support short to medium-term action on recovery and resilience to the impacts of the pandemic, climate risks, and other development challenges.
• Shared the experiences, tools and latest guidance on project design and implementation and their application in achieving the three Rs.
