Cities in Asia and the Pacific need to plan for a warmer world. This will require scaling up investments in climate and disaster resilience that benefits all population. Finance, especially climate adaptation finance could potentially play a critical role in helping cities and communities unlock their potential to grow despite climate challenges.
Katherine Miles
Katherine Miles is the gender consultant to the InsuResilience Gender Working Group and a technical expert on the gender dimensions of climate and disaster risk finance and insurance. Katherine co-authored research and guidance including Integrating Gender Considerations into Different Models of Climate Risk Insurance (CRI) and Applying a Gender Lens to Climate Risk Finance and Insurance on behalf of the InsuResilience Global Partnership.
Jerry Skees
Jerry Skees is the Executive Director of Global Parametrics and is also the primary founder and visionary behind Global Parametrics. With a career of 35 years as a professor of agricultural economics at the University of Kentucky, Jerry, and his previous firm, GlobalAgRisk, were at the forefront of many important innovations in low and middle-income countries. Several of those projects focused on protecting microfinance from natural hazards.

The Asia Pacific Climate Finance Fund (ACliFF) administered by ADB, aims to support the development and implementation of financial risk management products that can help unlock capital for climate investments and improve resilience.
