Innovative Project Development in Energy and Transport Sectors

Held in Tokyo, Japan, this Knowledge Partnership Forum for Innovative Project Development in the Energy and Transport Sectors gathered 150 participants from private sector and public agencies.

The forum aimed to strengthen partnerships with the Japan International Cooperation Agency, the private sector, and other agencies to promote sharing knowledge and expertise with ADB for innovative project development. Similarly, the forum served as a venue for the attendees to identify possible areas of collaboration on energy and transport technologies.

ADB Transport Forum 2016

Sustainable Transport for All is the world’s new ambition for transport, as reflected in the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement. Asia and the Pacific will be pivotal in mainstreaming sustainable transport. The region is home to majority of the world’s population and has the largest challenges in terms of poverty, pollution, and climate change. Providing sustainable transport for all will be essential for tackling each of these urgent issues.

Bambang Susantono

Bambang Susantono is the Chairman of the Nusantara National Capital Authority of the Republic of Indonesia since March 2022. The agency, a ministerial-level body directly under the President, is in charge of planning and constructing Indonesia’s new capital, as well as overseeing the government’s transition to the new city and eventually becoming its administrator.

Transport for Green Cities

This presentation analyzes the causal relationship between transport and the other sectors. It examines the transport trends in Asia and the Pacific, and also suggests a number of strategies for greening transport. ADB’s transport transformation and green city projects are discussed.

ADB Regional Technical Assistance 8168: Promoting Sustainable Transport through Improving Nonmotorized Transport

Apart from rickshaw (pedicab) images of different styles and models, this presentation shares the current design limitations of this alternative type of transport. To achieve better performance and scalability at a lower cost and yet maintain ease of management, a backend management architecture for pedicab fleet management system is proposed.

Smart Grid Integrated Vehicles: Innovation to Enhance Energy Security, Environmental Sustainability, and Community Resilience

Asia’s developing countries continue to face challenges in meeting energy security, environmental sustainability, and community resilience. The smart grid integrated vehicle concept, according to the presentation, is an option to be considered that can possibly help cover incremental costs and serve multiple core purposes.
