The ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) and The Asia Foundation held the final inclusive cities event of the AASCTF Smart Cities–Inclusive Cities Program online on 26 October 2022, called ‘At the Intersection: Smart Inclusive Cities in Southeast Asia’.

The ASEAN Australia Smart Cities Trust Fund (AASCTF) completed the Guided Learning Program (GLP), which aimed to assist cities in managing increasing amounts of data and enhancing urban planning and services.

This home exercise, which was part of the AASCTF Guided Learning Program course provided an introduction to data collection methods and key steps in case development to define data collection to improve urban living, as well as the barriers that cities face in collecting and storing urban data.

This home exercise, which was part of the AASCTF Guided Learning Program course provided an introduction to data governance in a city setting and how it can be applied in an organization, highlighting the challenges cities face in making accurate data available and maintaining it in a secure environment. It aimed at giving an understanding of the significance of data governance and security in smart cities; concepts and principles of data protection; and security and methods for meeting data protection and security requirements.

This home exercise, which was part of the AASCTF Guided Learning Program course focuses on data collection and storage and introduces collecting data methods. It also discussed key steps in case development to define data collection to improve urban living, as well as the common barriers that cities face in collecting and storing urban data.

Participants of the AASCTF Guided Learning Program course were provided a pitch deck template during the course to encourage participants to develop their smart data projects forward. Participants were also encouraged as an option to submit a pitch deck based on their own smart data projects if they wished to get feedback from the experts.
