Distributed Energy System using Renewable Energy and Energy Storage System Managemen

This presentation tackles how Hyundai Electric is expanding its ICT-integrated energy solutions business. He discussed the energy storage system (ESS) and how it can signifi cantly help in reducing electricity bill and can serve as a back-up generator in cases of emergencies. ESS does not only reduce the cost of electricity but also increase the reliability of power systems.

Simon Jeon

Simon Jeon is a manager of Global Business Department of LX. He is in charge of various capacity building projects in the field of land administration and geospatial information and has participated in Digital Twin Project of LX. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Actuarial and Financial Mathematics (2009) and honors degree in Mathematical Statistic (2010) from the University of Pretoria before joining LX in 2016.

Seung-myeong Jeong

Seung-myeong Jeong received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Computer Science from the Ajou University in the Republic of Korea in 2009 and 2011, respectively. Before he joined KETI, he worked as a Junior Researcher at Advanced Standard R&D Lab., CTO Division, LG Electronics in Seoul. His research interests are on IoT middleware platforms (e.g., oneM2M) and interworking technologies. He is an active member of oneM2M standardization and now serves as the vice-chairman of oneM2M Architecture WG.

This session provides an overview of Seoul and its intelligent transportation systems (ITS), detailing how the city recovered from the damages brought by the war in the 1950s to the establishment of urban management systems. He also talked about the Seoul Transportation vision that highlights human, sharing, and the environment.
