Capacity Building Workshop for Pakistan Government Officials on ADB Processes and Procedures

The Pakistan Resident Mission (PRM) Capacity Development Resource Centre (CDRC), in line with one of its core objectives to enhance the capacity of stakeholders in project preparation and implementation, conducted the Capacity-Building Program for Pakistan Government Officials on ADB Processes and Procedures, on 19–23 August 2024, at the ADB headquarters in Manila.

Procurement Training for Pakistan’s Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority Staff

PRM’s Capacity Development Resource Centre (CDRC) conducted a day-long training session on ADB’s procurement policies for the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) on 14 March 2024 in Lahore. PRM’s senior procurement officer Mohsen I. Khan sensitized key officials working in SMEDA about ADB’s procurement policy and regulations 2017, and selection of consultant. The sessions also included interactive discussions and case study sessions and scenario-based problem-solving exercises.

Procurement and Financial Management Training for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – Food Security Support Project (KP-FSSP)

PRM’s Capacity Development Resource Centre (CDRC) conducted a full-day training on procurement and financial management for the KP-FSSP on 16 February 2024. The Procurement session covered ADB Procurement Policy and Regulations 2017, Procurement Methods, Standard Bidding Documents & User’s Guide and Selection of Consultant. This was followed by a session on ADB’s Financial Management policies.

10th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the 10th Conference of the Asia Pacific Public Electronic Procurement Network (APPeN) on 11–12 December 2024 at the ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines, followed by IT security training on 13 December 2024. This year’s conference focused on the digital transformation of public procurement, highlighting emerging trends in automation and the use of electronic procurement to achieve broader policy objectives and development outcomes.
