This gives an overview of TerraCycle Foundation's waste management solutions and vision of a future in Thailand free from plastic pollution.
Having experienced the impacts of waste on coral reefs and marine areas firsthand on his diving trips around the world, He decided that it was time to become part of the solution. James has embraced the challenge of dealing with the massive volume of plastics and waste in Bangkok’s heavily polluted canal system. Together with local community leaders, government officials, and the recycling expertise of TerraCycle, James and his team have been able to launch one of the most effective and efficient canal and river cleanup operations anywhere.
Thousands of tons of plastic waste are polluting Thailand’s canals, rivers, and seas every year. The TerraCycle Global Foundation collects and recycles that waste before it reaches and gets degraded and diluted across the ocean. In the space of 2 years, the Foundation has prevented over 560,000 kg of waste from entering the ocean.
