How to Combine the Climate Issue with Other Development Targets: (Integrated) Multi Target Approach Needed (EN and CN)

This presentation emphasized that protecting the climate requires a complete change in the energy system, but there are many more underlying drivers for an energy system transformation. It further asserts that shaping the transition process to a more sustainable system requires a new form of thinking, involving a multi-target approach reflecting the different dimensions and change of perspectives needed-- particularly in cities.​

Welcome Remarks: 2nd International Forum on Low Carbon Development for Cities (EN and CN)

This presentation discussed the challenges to making cities livable and climate resilient, and emphasized the role of cities in climate actions. It also outlined the objectives of the Forum, and underscored ADB's commitment to find and strengthen its support to ensure low-carbon, livable, and prosperous cities.

Carmen Dienst

Carmen graduated from the University of Trier and holds a diploma in physical geography. She is also a Frankfurt School Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance and was McCloy Fellow in Environmental Policy of the American Council on Germany. Since its inception in 2004, Carmen coordinates the project “WISIONS initiative” (www.wisions.net), which is promoting sustainable energy solutions in developing regions and conducting research on sound implementation models.

Tjitte Nauta

Mr. Nauta has 30+ years of specialist consultancy experience as Strategic Advisor at the applied research institute Deltares. His experience includes integrated flood risk management, master planning and IWRM studies for inland and coastal water systems in numerous countries worldwide. In 2013 Mr. Nauta has been appointed by the Netherlands government as a Dutch Risk Reduction Team Leader with the objective to assist countries in their efforts for recovery from or prevention against water-related hazards.

Zolzaya Enkhtur

Ms. Zolzaya Enkhtur is working as a Climate Change and Project Management Specialist for ADB RETA on low carbon development. She has completed her Master’s in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management and worked extensively on various environmental and sustainable projects in Mongolia since 2010. Previously she worked as a senior projects officer at Capital city’s Environmental Agency to expand cooperation opportunities with international organizations to meet the commitments of Green development policy and Climate policy of Ulaanbaatar city.
