Michael Rellosa

Michael Rellosa is the Executive Director of the Philippine Insurers and Reinsurers Association (PIRA, Inc.), a leading industry body representing the insurance and reinsurance sectors in the Philippines. In this role, he oversees strategic direction, industry engagement, and advocacy for member firms, helping shape best practices in risk management, regulatory collaboration, and sector development. He has served in the association’s leadership for many years, including as chairman before he was appointed executive director in 2018.

Linda Sew

Linda Sew is an independent consultant who has more than 20 years of experience from the insurance industry where she worked with several multi-national insurers and reinsurers. Her corporate experience includes risk management, pricing, underwriting, reserving and technical accounting. 

What is needed to address the financing gap for nature?

The presentation highlighted the large global financing gap for nature and showed how WWF and ADB had worked to mobilize funding for conservation. It outlined WWF’s strategy to finance green projects and align financial systems with global climate and nature goals, using examples from Borneo to demonstrate practical applications. It concluded that scaling nature investments required coordinated policies, stronger financial mechanisms, and mainstreaming natural capital in existing financial instruments.
