Wiwandari Handayani

Wiwi is a distinguished expert in urban and regional planning, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Universitas Diponegoro. With over 15 years of experience, Wiwi has been actively involved in urban sustainability and resilience projects. She has led significant research initiatives, including the Asian Cities Climate Change Resilience Network and various projects funded by international organizations such as Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Australian Government. 

Christian Ellermann

Mr. Ellermann has more than 13 years of professional work experience with focus on climate finance. He is ADB’s focal person for the Green Climate Fund and the Climate Investment Funds, and for managing the associated internal trust funds and teams. As part of the Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Division, he leads on the topic of aligning ADB with the Paris Agreement.

Gender Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction and Management

Justice Robyn Layton shared an ADB project that she has been working on with Dr. Mary Picard. This project analyzes the climate change and disaster risk management policies and the green jobs market for women in Fiji, Lao People's Democratic Republic, and Mongolia. It includes the crafting of a good practice gender inclusive legislative framework to strengthen women's resilience to climate change and disaster risk.

Asia-Pacific Judicial Conference on Climate Change Adjudication: Trends and Impacts

The Supreme Court of Fiji (SCF), in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the United Nations Environment Programme, cohosted the Asia-Pacific Judicial Conference on Environmental and Climate Change Adjudication (Conference) on 7-8 October 2019, in Nadi, Fiji under the banner of the Asian Judges Network on Environment (AJNE), the unique judicial association working towards strengthening environmental and climate change adjudication.
