Daniel Twigt

Daniel Twigt is an expert in the field of flood early warning. He has over 10+ years of experience in developing flood early warning systems around the world. He has led, among others, the continued development of the national flood early warning systems of the Netherlands, and has extensive experience with urban flood forecasting and early warning in Singapore. Daniel also coordinates Deltares' research program on flood early warning, from which new and innovative tools and concepts for flood hazard and impact based early warning are developed.

Eline Boelee

Dr. Eline Boelee, senior researcher and advisor for water-environment-health interlinkages at Deltares, discussed how an integrated approach contributes to the understanding of health risks in water systems. She focused mainly on freshwater systems, looking at drivers, pressures, state, impact, and responses. Boelee also provided examples of innovative monitoring and modeling used in forecasting and preventing health risks and spread of diseases.
