Sevrine Sailley

Dr Sevrine Sailley is a senior marine ecosystem modeller at Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) and has been leading on PML’s Science to Impact Challenge Area towards improving the sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture. She Chairs the Working Group on Integrative, Physical-biological and Ecosystem Modelling with the intergovernmental marine organization the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES).

Reducing Extreme Poverty: Building Climate Resilience through Graduation Programmes

BRAC's presentation outlined their Ultra-Poor Graduation (UPG) programme that addresses extreme poverty through the "ABCs" approach: Assets (productive investments), Basic needs (consumption support), and Coaching (intensive mentorship). The programme has evolved since 2002 to integrate climate resilience, recognizing that climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable populations.

Lukas Arenson

Dr. Lukas Arenson, Ph.D., P. Eng. (BC, YK, NU, NT), is a Principal Geotechnical Engineer with primary areas of expertise in geotechnical and mountain permafrost engineering, including specializations in frozen soil mechanics and geothermal modeling. He is a renowned expert in the dynamics of ice-rich frozen slopes, particularly rock glaciers. He has expert knowledge in in-situ testing and monitoring of mountain permafrost in North America, the European Alps, and the dry Andes of South America.
