Melanie Slade

Melanie Slade has spent thirty years in energy efficiency policy development and implementation in many parts of the world. She started out working in the UK Government on industrial and appliance energy efficiency and has worked with many other governments to establish similar programmes, perhaps most notably, the Government of China since the 1990s. In 2007 Mel became the Chair of Australia and New Zealand’s Equipment Energy Efficiency programme and where she led the phase-out of inefficient lighting.

Alfredo Baño Leal

Alfredo Baño Leal is a Senior Energy Specialist at ADB developing sustainable energy operations in the East Asia region. Previously, he worked at the Independent Evaluation Department of AD3, where he evaluated energy programs and led Of AD3' s 2009 Energy Policy. He has 1 5 years Of experience working on energy infrastructure sectors in Europe and Asia. Before joining ADB, he worked for the International Atomic Energy Agency, he consulted for the World Bank and ADB, and worked for an engineering consulting firm in Spain.

Chris Shanks is a senior hydrogeologist for Tonkin + Taylor, with over 12 years of experience as an environmental consultant across New Zealand and wider Australasia. He works almost exclusively on public water supply projects, specialising in strategic planning for groundwater resource development and drinking water source security, where he holds key technical leadership roles on various public water supply projects.
