Baguio City Smart Flood Warning, Information and Mitigation System - Capacity Building Program Module 2 Evaluation Report

This report presents the outcomes of the monitoring and evaluation activities of Module 2 of the Baguio City Smart Flood Warning, Information and Mitigation System Project's Targeted Capacity Building Program, as well as preliminary reflections on observations made to date related to program effectiveness.

Sara Shirowzhan

Dr Sara Shirowzhan is the lecturer and the co-convener of the Smart Cities and Infrastructure Cluster in the School of Built Environment (BE) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia. Sara’s areas of research in technologies relevant to the built environment include advanced GIS, nD BIM, sensing technologies, digital twins, and artificial intelligence for applications in smart cities, infrastructure, urban development and construction.

Smart, livable and resilient city - Australian perspective

Ms. Katherine O'Regan, Executive Director of the Cities Leadership Institute, who shared some highlights from Australia's smart city journey from the perspective of the cities of Adelaide, Prospect, the Sunshine Coast, and Townsville. She highlighted the bold leadership and cultural change needed within organizations and governments to implement smart city solutions, as well as the reality that not all organizations have the skills and capacity to do so.
