Mushtaq Memon

Dr. Memon is working with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) as a Regional Coordinator for Resource Efficiency in Asia Pacific Office located in Bangkok. He is supporting resource efficiency, sustainable consumption and production, green economy, green financing, sustainable public procurement, sustainable tourism, sustainable industries and various areas for Asia and the Pacific. Dr. Memon is also Project Manager for the Regional Policy Advocacy Component of the EU-funded SWITCH-Asia Programme to promote sustainable consumption and production and uptake of SDG 12 in Asia.

Glynda Bathan-Baterina

Glynda has more than 20 years’ experience in air quality management. She was a member of the legal team which assisted the Philippine Government in drafting the Clean Air Act of 1999 Implementing Rules and Regulations. She also led the implementation of the Asia Clean Fuels and Vehicles program which resulted in national policies and roadmaps for cleaner fuels and vehicles in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Pakistan.

Tom Buckland

Tom is experienced in the preparation of Climate Action Plans and Low Emissions Strategies for cities in the UK and overseas. Tom regularly leads stakeholder consultation events and capacity building workshops designed to identify opportunities for low emission measures and climate change mitigation & adaptation actions.

Ben Grebot

Ben has led a number of high profile and high value consultancy projects for public and private sector clients concerning environmental policy, with particular expertise in air quality, emissions, agriculture, water, climate change, chemicals and industrial pollution control policy. He has led a number of impact assessments and ex-post evaluations helping clients to develop robust and cost-effective policies.

About the Asia Clean Blue Skies Program (ACBSP) Launch Event

This event launched the “Asia Clean Blue Skies Program” of the Asian Development Bank. The first phase of the program was implemented from September 2022 until September 2023. The overall goal of the program is to scale up investments in improving air quality.

CWRD Brown Bag Seminar on Almaty-Bishkek Economic Corridor: What can be done against air pollution?

On 9 April, CWRC’s Kristian Rosbach discussed ADB’s air pollution measuring and mitigation efforts in Bishkek and Almaty, making these cities healthier for inhabitants and visitors. The seminar stressed the importance of utilizing air quality data to inform these cities’ pollution reduction strategies. Around 70 participants attended the seminar.
