A History of Financial Management at ADB

ADB's former director general of Private Sector Operations Department Philip Erquiaga discussed how Triple A rating and standalone strength have helped the institution effectively respond to various financial crises. He provided an overview on how financial models and systems enabled increased sophistication in identifying and managing ADB's risks over the last 50 years.

Jaemin Nam is a Sector Project Administration Unit Head ‒ East, Central and West Asia Team at ADB’s Water and Urban Development (WUD) Sector Office. Over the past 25 years, he has processed and implemented WUD projects in South, Southeast, and Central West Asia within and outside ADB. His areas of expertise include water supply, sanitation, PPP, and long-term sustainability. 

Public Transport Projects in Tbilisi

Neil Chadder of Cities Development Initiatives in Asia (CDIA) shares details of CDIA's work with the city government of Tbilisi in Georgia in improving its transport system. Through the implementation of two pre-feasibility studies, CDIA is targeting the restructuring and rationalizing of the bus network, conceptual studies for bus rapid transit and tram/light rail options for a selected corridor, and the preparation of a phased investment plan for modernization of the soviet-style Tbilisi metro system.
