Japanese Representative Office (JRO) of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) organized the business opportunities seminar (BOS) to attract quality suppliers, contractors, and consultants from Japan for ADB-funded projects.

The webinar session presented real-world case studies demonstrating the practical applications of data science, AI, and digitalization to power generation and distribution utilities for increased reliability and efficiency in operations and customer service. It also looked into data science and AI for developing markets, with an emphasis on power pricing/trends and how data could support the challenges around better costs.

Developing Asia’s outlook remains solid, driven by strong domestic demand and continued recovery in exports. But risks remain, including a possible rise in protectionism that could occur depending on the outcome of the United States presidential election, worsening geopolitical tensions, a fragile PRC property market, and adverse weather conditions.
