Coastal Resilience by Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund
Session Synopsis: Consequential and overlapping issues such as food security, climate change, and marine biodiversity have been at the forefront in setting ambitious national and regional targets for achieving coastal resilience. Fully functioning and effectively managed technologies contribute to delivering such commitments. As part of the ADB Healthy Oceans Finance and Technology Forum, this session aims to share with developing member countries (DMCs) and ADB operations the latest innovations for ocean health, with the aim of enhancing knowledge for increased and more impactful investments.
This half-hour session took a peek at available scalable solutions on how ocean health data is captured and processed to help inform decision-makers. The tools to be featured by Sofar Ocean and the Coral Triangle Initiative advance not only ocean health research but aids governments and civil society organizations to consolidate evidence-based climate change vulnerability assessments of the oceans and put in place effective adaptation measures for coastal communities and ecosystems.
