Series: ADB Data Room: Pakistan Resident Mission's Capacity Development Resource Center (PRM CDRC) Training of Trainers (TOT) of Health Care Providers on Improving Gender-Based Violence Knowledge at SHC Facilities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 20 to 21 January 2025 Peshawar, Pakistan On January 20-21, ADB held an advocacy training of the trainers session to address gender-based violence (GBV) for health professionals from 32 hospitals of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province to support health sector reforms under the $100 Million KP Health Systems Strengthening Program. Speakers highlighted the importance of promoting gender equality and protecting women’s rights, underscoring healthcare professionals' training needs to foster a safe and supportive environment for patients. The workshop was aimed at enhancing the capacity of healthcare providers in handling GBV cases to ensure gender-sensitive clinical protocols and improving overall service delivery. It was a step towards achieving the project’s goal of empowering women and ensuring their access to quality healthcare services. Aligned with ADB’s Effective Gender Mainstreaming (EGM) guidelines, the results-based lending project in KP supports modernizing healthcare infrastructure, upgrading medical equipment, and training healthcare providers.
