Shanshan Li

Li Shanshan is the Vice Country Director of ITDP China. She joined ITDP in 2009 with a master's degree in Transportation Engineering and is currently leading the ITDP office in Beijing. She has been working on urban planning and sustainable transportation projects and accumulated a lot of experience and knowledge on planning, design, and the implementation of BRT, NMT, and TOD projects.  She was previously a consultant to the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank on many sustainable transportation projects in China and Asian cities.

Mandalay Urban Development and Enhanced Regional Cooperation in Asia

This seminar discussed the development of Mandalay, Myanmar, and the significant challenges it faces in the wake of reforms over the last two to three years. Although the lion’s share of foreign investors’ attention is on the capital city of Yangon, it is worthwhile to focus on Mandalay, Myanmar’s second largest city. In addition to its natural and economic advantages, Mandalay is a major node on the emerging South Asia to Southeast Asia Corridor, as well as on the North South corridor linking Yunnan province in the People's Republic of China with the Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean.

Lance Gore

Lance is the Principal Portfolio Management Specialist and Principal Water Resources Specialist for ADB’s South Asia Regional Department’s agriculture and natural resources division. He is a chartered engineer who has been working for ADB since 2003 and as staff since 2012. He focuses mainly on water resources management, water governance, irrigation modernization, flood risk management, and bulk storage and conveyance.

Siti Hasanah

After nearly two decades in the resident mission, this urban development specialist takes her place in headquarters, ready for new challenges and the same old purpose—helping people.

Born in Bandung, Indonesia, Siti has made a career out of working for the good of a city. In the beginning, it was for Jakarta, where she moved after finishing a degree in environmental engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology, a reputable university that counts West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil and ADB Vice President Bambang Susantono as some of its notable alumni.
