Lu’isa Uai Taunga

Lu’isa Uai Taunga has served at the Ministry of MEIDECC within the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) since 2016. Her current role now is the Senior Assistant Secretary and the HOD for the Research and Training Division within NDRMO. Her team works extensively in conducting CBDRM to local communities in partnership with stakeholders to ensure GEDSI is integrated into community plans.

Quddus Fielea

Quddus has over 35 years of experience in the water sector and is the Deputy CEO (Engineering Manager) of the Tonga Water Board. He oversees the operations of the TWB Engineering Divisions and ensures that water infrastructure assets are planned, operated, and managed, for the present and future generations of Tonga.

Creating the right environment for sustainable financing will help achieve TVET and national policy objectives.

Visions of Asia's Water Realities

In 2001, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved its Water for All policy to promote water as a socially vital economic good that needs increasingly careful management. One imperative of the policy was to raise awareness on water challenges and the urgent need to address them.

Two years later in 2003, as part of a bank-wide water awareness program, ADB launched the Water Voices documentary series, a set of seven compelling documentaries about people finding local solutions to important water-related problems in Asia and the Pacific.
