Ha Wei

Professor Ha Wei is the Associate Dean for Teaching, International Cooperation and Executive Training and Associate Professor of Education Policy and Management at the Graduate School of Education, Peking University. He specializes in impact evaluation of education policies in China. He received his BA and MA from Peking University and his Ph.D. from Harvard Kennedy School. Prior to joining PKU, he served as policy specialist and senior policy specialist with UNDP and UNICEF in the US and in Africa for almost seven years.

Mingzhi Xu

Mingzhi Xu is an Assistant Professor at Peking University. In 2018–2019, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the National Bureau of the Economic Research and a visiting researcher at the Growth Lab of Harvard Kennedy School. He obtained the Ph.D. in economics from the University of California Davis.

University-Industry Linkages in China

In the People’s Republic of China, different types of higher education Institutions serve different roles in university-industry linkages (UIL). As the nature and outcomes of UIL are shaped by local institutional contexts, it is essential to create strategies that are context specific. The key is to align economic incentives with efforts to ensure the success of UIL.
