Scene Setting: Green Buildings and Eco-Districts Financing and Implementation Mechanisms

How do you promote green building, energy efficiency, performing cooling, and heating methods in countries/cities that are lacking capacity? In this presentation, Mr. Heckmann discussed ADB's Ulaanbaatar Green Affordable Housing and Resilient Urban Renewal Project. It is a large-scale demonstration project and complete solution leveraging private sector investment to deliver affordable and green housing stock. The project also established policies, mechanisms, and standards for sustainable and affordable housing and green urban development.

Zolzaya Enkhtur

Ms. Zolzaya Enkhtur is working as a Climate Change and Project Management Specialist for ADB RETA on low carbon development. She has completed her Master’s in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management and worked extensively on various environmental and sustainable projects in Mongolia since 2010. Previously she worked as a senior projects officer at Capital city’s Environmental Agency to expand cooperation opportunities with international organizations to meet the commitments of Green development policy and Climate policy of Ulaanbaatar city.

Partnering to Promote Anti-Money Laundering Reforms in Mongolia

If an effective reform program were to successfully navigate the road from “current equilibrium” to the “desired equilibrium,” it may have to address four questions at the onset. The questions follow a cyclical process that starts with the identification of internal champions and grows wider to capture technocrats and key supporters in government, and the much wider realm of the private sector. This presentation features ADB’s anti-money laundering technical assistance project in Mongolia as a case example.

Linking Subnationals to Finance: Investing in Asia’s Urban Future

A financing gap on infrastructure investment exists in Asia. This presentation provides information on how the Cities Development Initiative for Asia (CDIA) supports urban investment projects and contributes to the implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 11. Case studies developed by CDIA on India, Mongolia, and the Philippines are shared.
