Alex Shahryar-Davies

Alex Shahryar-Davies is the Deputy High Commissioner of New Zealand to Fiji, based in Suva. He has been in this role since December 2022. He has previously held roles in the Pacific & Development Group and the Asia & Americas Group in New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Wellington. Before joining the New Zealand Government, Alex worked in a variety of roles in the United Kingdom, Vanuatu, and Sierra Leone, working on international affairs, public policy, and economics.

Yutaka Arai

Yutaka used to be the Vice-Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Japan. She joined it in April 1987. Some of the positions she held was detailed below:

Jason Chung

Jason M. Chung of Virginia currently serves as the U.S. Alternate Executive Director where he represents the United States on the Board of Directors of the Asian Development Bank. Prior to his appointment, Jason served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs. His portfolio included matters related to international affairs, development finance, CFIUS, trade and bilateral relationship between the U.S. Treasury and ministries of finance of other nations. Asif Cheema

Mr. Cheema started his career at Deutsche Bank Securities, New York as an Equity Research Associate in 1996. Before joining ADB, he worked in various financial institutions including J.P. Morgan Securities, New York; HSBC Investment Bank, Dubai and London; Nomura International, Dubai as Executive Director, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking. He also has worked at Alpen Capital, Dubai, and the UAE.
