2025 Resilience Learning Month

The Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management divisions of the Climate Change, Resilience, and Environment cluster (CCRE) under the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Department (CCSD), in partnership with the Culture and Talent Division of the Budget, Personnel, and Management Systems Department (BPMSD), organized a series of virtual and in-person learning events for the 2025 Resilience Learning Month.

Naresh Giri

Mr. Naresh Giri is a Senior Project Officer for urban development at ADB’s Water and Urban Development Sector Office. He plays a leading role in implementing ADB’s Earthquake Emergency Assistance Project in Nepal after the 2015 earthquake. He has a blend of experience: at the field level as a municipal planner and at the policy level as a former UNDP officer. Prior to joining ADB in 2015, Naresh supported the implementation of the Building Code and Risk Sensitive Land Use Plan in Nepal.

Staff Capacity Development Workshop on Integrated Disaster Risk Management

Asian Development Bank (ADB)'s disaster risk management activities are guided by the 2004 Disaster and Emergency Assistance Policy. A companion Integrated Disaster Risk Management (IDRM) Operational Plan was approved in April 2014. The operational plan indicates that periodic staff capacity development workshops will be held on IDRM. The first of these events was run in 2013, prior to the approval of the plan. A second workshop was held in 2014. The third event is planned for November 2015 also to be held in Manila, similar to the first two workshops.
