ADB is organizing a training series on Circular Economy entitled “Accelerating the Circular Economy: Integrating Circularity into Programs, Projects, and Policies”. Delivered through four events in 2024, this initiative of the Environment Group presents cross-sectoral knowledge and experience gained by ADB’s project teams and partners during project design and implementation.

Clean Air Asia, along with co-organizers, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (a UNEP convened initiative), presented the 11th Better Air Quality Conference (BAQ),15-17 November 2023, with pre-events on 13-14 November, at the ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines.

The Circular Economy is an emerging theme internationally. A Circular Economy is a systemic approach to decouple economic development and activity from consuming finite resources. A Circular Economy will allow ADB to tackle global environmental challenges, including climate change, resource management, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution, while supporting economic development and reducing poverty.

ADB, the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Grow Asia, and DFAT Australia organized this joint event to discuss how digital technologies are reshaping agriculture in the region; and transforming rural economies and food systems into becoming more inclusive, productive, resilient, and sustainable.

Michael Abundo talked about the tidal, wave, floating solar, floating wind, and OTEC sources. He also shared insights into how offshore energy is being integrated into the marine environment.

Dan Millison, ADB's Sustainable Development and Climate Change- Energy Sector Group's consultant, talked about the challenges and opportunities created by the deteriorating marine environment. By using marine renewable energy as the entry point with complementary technologies and business models, oceanic regeneration may be able to reverse ocean acidification, but only through rapid decarbonization.
