Advancing Transdisciplinary Education

While there are tremendous advances in science and technology, there is slow progress in solving pressing global problems. Inadequate local capacity has partly resulted to a general lack of societal involvement in program development. The use of transdisciplinary approach is essential to achieve efficient implementation and sustainability of programs or projects.

Water and Sanitation Privatization in Metro Manila: An Impact Evaluation of Service Provider Assignment on Health, Education, and Wealth Outcomes from 1997-2007

This presentation shares the results on a quantitative impact evaluation (QIE) of a relevant water and sanitation intervention performed in Metro Manila in the Philippines. Findings of the QIE contributed evidence on how the success or failure to meet project outputs can impact on the lives of its recipients.

Bangladesh Coastal Towns Environmental Infrastructure Project: Inclusive Approach for Disaster Risk Management

Supporting change on the ground by working with those most at risk, the Bangladesh Coastal Towns Environmental Infrastructure Project is an example of inclusive approach to disaster risk management. The project’s intended outcome is increase in climate and disaster resiliency in coastal towns that benefit the poor and women.
