While social evaluation of projects should be complemented by disaster risk assessment, the creation of sustainable and resilient public infrastructure requires the implementation of management strategies on disaster risk reduction.

This presentation by Prof. Fusanori Miura of Yamaguchi University (YU) shares details of the Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing that facilitates researches and practical uses of satellite remote sensing technologies at the field level. The initiative is being carried out based on a tripartite agreement with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and Yamaguchi Prefectural government.
