Application of Satellite Remote Sensing to Disaster Risk Management 1 June 2017 Philippines Prof. Fusanori Miura, Vice President of Yamaguchi University (YU) discussed the effective use of satellite remote sensing technologies for the disaster risk management, including early warning and post-disaster impact assessments. YU recently established the Center for Research and Application of Satellite Remote Sensing to facilitate researches and practical uses of satellite remote sensing technologies at the field level. The initiative is being carried out based on a tripartite agreement with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Yamaguchi Prefectural government.
