2023 Resilience Learning Month

In celebration of Resilience Learning Month (RLM) 2023, ADB has organized a series of online events and capacity-building workshops that highlight regional and global innovation and lessons learned on tackling climate change and building climate and disaster resilience, delivered in partnership with ADB operations departments and sector and thematic groups.

Bradley Hope

Bradley is the co-author of Billion Dollar Whale, Blood and Oil and author of The Rebel and the Kingdom. He spent seven years breaking stories and leading investigations at the Wall Street Journal from New York and London. Before that, he covered the Arab Spring from Cairo, Tripoli and Beirut. He started his career as a police reporter at the New York Sun in Manhattan. He is a Pulitzer finalist and a winner of the Gerald Loeb Award for International Reporting.

Mikiko Kainuma

Dr. Mikiko Kainuma is a senior research advisor of Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES), an Honorary Research Fellow of National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) and a Secretary General of Leveraging a Carbon Neutral Society Strategic Research Network (LCS-RNet). Since 1990, she has developed the Asia-Pacific Integrated Model (AIM), which assesses policy options for stabilizing the global climate, particularly in the Asian-Pacific region with researchers at NIES, Kyoto University and several institutes in Asia.

Jingnan Hu

Dr. Jingnan HU is the director of Atmospheric Environment Institute at the Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES). He has long been engaged in the research of regional air pollution prevention and control, and vehicle emission control. He has presided over a number of national research projects and achieved innovative research outcomes in the field of atmospheric environment, providing scientific and technological supports for winning the "Blue Sky Protection Campaign" in China.

Xu Xiangchao

Xu Xiangchao, Director of the Research Office of the Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau(BEE). He previously served as the Deputy Director of the Air Division and the Chief of the Comprehensive Law Enforcement of BEE. For many years, he has been engaged in regulatory enforcement, formulation and implementation of measures for the prevention and control of air pollution in Beijing, emergency response to severe air pollution, industrial pollution prevention and control, pollution reduction in the energy sector, and dust pollution control, etc.
