Opening Remarks - Conference on Measuring and Achieving Universal Health Coverage with ICT in Asia and the Pacific

ADB President Takehiko Nakao in his speech touched upon three issues: (i) why strong health systems are important for development in Asia and the Pacific; (ii) why ICT is the key to strengthening health systems; and (iii) how ADB will contribute to promoting universal health coverage in developing member countries.

Green Growth, Green Jobs, and Green Skills in Asia: Overall and Regional Findings of the ADB-Hong Kong Institute of Education Policy Research Study

This presentation gives an overview and shares findings of the Asian Development Bank Policy Research Study on Education and Skills for Inclusive Growth and Green Jobs. The key issues that need to be addressed by policy makers and researchers, including the big chance issues emerging from the research study, are highlighted.

Call for Mentors

Many water and wastewater utilities in Asia and the Pacific need help to deliver better services to their customers. Asian Development Bank (ADB), to this end, has created the Water Operators Partnerships program. ADB invites utilities to become mentors to help improve the operational efficiency of utilities in the region.

Organized by the Governance Thematic Group of ADB in partnership with the Decentralization and Local Governance network, this learning event on External Support for Decentralization Reforms and Local Governance Systems in the Asia-Pacific: Better Performance, Higher Impact? focused on reform processes and their results in ADB's developing member countries. It reviewed both national reform processes, as well as support strategies and instruments provided by development partners.
