Anshuman Varma

Mr. Anshuman Varma is currently the Deputy Head of the Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM), a regional institution of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) in Beijing. In this role, he oversees the implementation of a wide range of programs for sustainable agricultural mechanization in the Asia-Pacific region and leads the development of new programs and projects. He arrived in Beijing in December 2016.

Shirley Rodrigues

Shirley Rodrigues was appointed as London's Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy in October 2016. Previously, she oversaw a global climate change grants portfolio at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), developing their cities and climate strategy. In other senior environmental roles, she devised and delivered a range of environmental policies and programs in London, nationally, and internationally. 

Yidan Chu

Yidan Chu is a Researcher and co-coordinator of the Cities cluster at the ICCT. Her current research focuses on EV markets, policies, and technologies. Ms. Chu holds a Master of Environmental Policy from Duke University and a B.S. in Environmental Science from Hangzhou Dianzi University (China). Before joining the ICCT, she conducted research projects on EV charging policies (China and the U.S.) and battery technologies.

Hanna Boogaard

Hanna Boogaard has more than 20 years of experience in air pollution epidemiology. She is a Consultant Principal Scientist at the Health Effects Institute (HEI) in Boston, MA, an independent research organization with balanced funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the motor vehicle industry. She received a PhD in 2012 in air pollution epidemiology from Utrecht University, Netherlands. She studied the health effects of traffic‐related air pollution and the effectiveness of traffic policy measures.

Vivian Pun

Dr. Vivian Pun serves as Technical Head of Breathe Cities for Southeast Asia & Senior Advisor for Air Quality and Health at C40 Cities, a network of the world's megacities committed to addressing climate change. Vivian leads the delivery of the C40-led activities in the Breathe Cities initiative in Southeast Asia, as well as in-house modeling, analysis, report writing, and public communication through C40 air quality technical assistance projects.

Securing Climate Finance for Projects and Programs with Co-benefits with Air Quality

This presentation provides an overview of the Asian Development Bank's commitments and progress in climate finance, specifically in relation to air quality improvement projects. It also highlights the various financing mechanisms and initiatives, such as the ETM Funding Vehicle and the Innovative Finance Facility for Climate in Asia and the Pacific, that the ADB is implementing to mobilize climate finance and support the transition to clean energy.

Swati Mitchelle Dsouza

Swati Mitchelle Dsouza is a climate change specialist at the Asian Development Bank. Swati’s research interests include just transitions, power and transport sector decarbonization, and supply chain security. She was the India lead analyst for the IEA, a consultant on new strategic initiatives at IEEFA, and co-developed the India ZEV center at UC Davis on transport sector decarbonization. She founded the climate change center at the National Foundation for India and led one of the first studies on just transitions in India in 2021.
