Stakeholders Consultative Workshop on Corporate Farming Laws in Pakistan

The Ministry of National Food Security and Research (MNFSR) is drafting a piece of legislation for corporate farming: (i) support corporate farming, (ii) corporateize smallholder farming, and (iii) contract farming. The draft laws would incorporate the best international practices and lessons learned to transform Pakistan’s agriculture.

Sessions Recording: Sustainable Mechanization-based Solutions for Climate Smart Agriculture – Showcasing the experience of the Philippines, Pakistan, and Nepal

[Recording] This session discussed the potential benefits of mechanization for climate-smart and competitive agriculture by showcasing the activities of three countries—the Philippines, Pakistan, and Nepal—and sharing lessons learned from their experiences of technical collaboration with UNESCAP’s Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization (CSAM) and its Asian and Pacific Network for Testing of Agricultural Machinery (ANTAM).

Hiz Jamali

Hiz Jamali is Senior Climate Change Officer at Asian Development Bank. As a regional climate focal for Pakistan and Afghanistan, Hiz provides technical support to the development, implementation, and coordination of ADB’s climate change agenda. He holds a PhD in climate change from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Prior to joining ADB, Hiz was as a senior researcher at Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO), Australia, providing scientific leadership to government and industry partners in environmental, agriculture, and food sectors.
