Doing Business with ADB

Hiroki Kasahara, Senior Financing Partnerships Specialist of ADB's Partner Funds Division spoke at a seminar co-organized by ADB's Japan Representative Office and the ASEAN-Japan Centre on 7 November 2019 to address potential business opportunities in ADB operations funded by the trust funds for companies together with Development Finance International. About 50 participants from Japanese private firms took part in the event.

Anders Pettersson

Mr. Pettersson, Principal Portfolio Management Specialist, Central and West Asia Department, worked with procurement on ADB funded projects for 14 years including all CWRD DMCs, PR China, Mongolia, Viet Nam and the Pacific and has held portfolio management positions in the ADB Mongolia Resident Mission and the East Asia Sustainable Infrastructure Division on Transport and Energy sectors. He is ADB Procurement Accredited and holds a master’s degree in business administration.

Financial Sustainability, Financial Due Diligence, and Institutional Sustainability

ADB’s Charter notes that necessary measures should be done to ensure that the proceeds of any loan are used for their intended purposes. Borrowers should also be in a position to meet their obligations under the loan agreement. This presentation gives an overview of the Bank’s mechanics of accounting and explains the concept of Financial Management Assessment and how it is applied by ADB.
