The poor have limited access to cars and public transport. The case is true in Pakistan, especially for women who are more restrained because of social norms and safety concerns. In this presentation, Duke University’s Kate Vyborny shares the results of an impact evaluation of mass transit on commuting and public transport use in Pakistan. She also tackles the potential of mass transit investment in creating a substantial shift toward a more sustainable commuting in the developing world.
