Cities have much potential that can help propel growth even beyond its boundaries. Looking at the current state of most cities in Asia and the Pacific region, however, financial gaps are still apparent. Underinvesting remains a problem.
This was the context of 2017 ADB-Asia Think Thank Development Forum: Promoting Sustainable Urbanization in Asia and the Pacific held in September. This served as a venue to share insights and lessons learned on sustainable urbanization in the region. Members of the Asia Think Tanks Network also identified ways on how they can work together to promote financing on sustainable urbanization in the region.
The ADB–Asian Think Tanks Network is an informal group of Asian think tanks—mainly economic development academic research institutions and organizations in Asia—working on the areas of sustainable economic growth and inclusive development.
