Srinivasan Janardanam is the Principal Financial Management Specialist in the Public Financial Management Division of ADB’s Procurement, Portfolio and Financial Management Department. He is currently assigned in the South Asia Public Management, Financial Sector and Trade Division.
Since May 2013, Srini has been with ADB’s Public Financial Management Division (PFFM). Prior to joining PFFM, from 2010, he was with the South Asia energy division, where he served as a finance specialist and loan processing and administration mission leader. In PFFM, his responsibilities include development of policy documents and guidance material, guiding and mentoring PFFM staff, advising project processing and administration missions on financial due diligence issues, developing and delivering capacity building training of ADB staff on financial due diligence, and supervising the quality assurance reviews of all project proposals, including technical assistance.
From 1995 to 2010, Srini was working in the areas of loan disbursement and portfolio management in ADB’s India Resident Mission (INRM). This included managing INRM’s disbursement function, supervising the INRM portfolio with a special focus on the urban sector, and organizing and conducting India-wide tripartite portfolio review meetings to improve ADB’s portfolio performance on contract awards, disbursements, and covenant compliance.
Prior to joining the ADB in 1995, he was with USAID/India handling portfolio accounting for 2 years. Before moving to the development finance sector in 1993, his private sector experience, mainly in accounting and auditing, includes stints with a chartered accounting firm where he led independent financial audit teams, an automobile ancillary unit and a liquor firm for about 7 years.
Srini holds a graduate degree in commerce, and is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and an Associate member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
