More than just obtaining better quality accounts, public financial management (PFM) should also be viewed in terms of achieving better fiscal management, improving economic freedom, and expanding the fiscal space of governments. Strengthening PFM staff skills and leading PFM reform efforts among member countries should form part of Asian Development Bank’s future strategy.
